Give Items PRO 1.2.2 โ
Give Items delivers items stored in the HUD to its owner, packed in an inventory folder. Use it for redelivery buttons, "get the matching shoes" buttons, notecard manuals, landmarks to your store, or unboxing HUDs.
Deliver items from the object to the owner, inside an inventory folder.
Requires [add-on] - Give Items - 1Click inside the object that runs the action.
How it works โ
Drop the items to deliver into the HUD's Content, and drop
[add-on] - Give Items - 1Clickin as well.In the panel, scan assets so the items appear (objects, sounds, animations, notecards and landmarks are listed; textures and materials are hidden by default, toggle Show Textures & Materials to include them).
Add a Give Items action to a button and fill the form:
Field What to enter Inventory Folder Name The folder the customer receives, e.g. My Outfit - Extras(up to 60 characters).Deliver the whole inventory On: everything in Content is delivered. Off: pick items from the list. Item list Tick the items to deliver (when not delivering everything). Search by name. Save, Build, and click the button to test: a folder offer appears in your viewer.
"Deliver the whole inventory" vs. a selection โ
| Mode | Delivers | Good for |
|---|---|---|
| Whole inventory | Every item in the object's Content at the moment of the click, including items you add after the build. Never delivers the 1Click scripts. | Redelivery buttons, boxes |
| Selected items | Only the ticked items. | "Get the bonus item" buttons |
In both modes, items without copy permission are skipped: Second Life cannot give them as part of a list, and one no-copy item would make the whole delivery fail.
What Finish keeps changed in 1.2.4 โ
Finish deletes the working files from the HUD's Content, and keeps the items your Give Items actions deliver โ they are the product.
- Selected items: only the ticked items stay; the textures, sounds and notecards you used while building are removed as usual.
- Deliver the whole inventory: nothing is removed, since everything in Content is what you deliver. Delete by hand anything customers should not get โ the textures and sounds your actions use are no longer needed after the build, because actions use them by UUID.
Build before you Finish. The object learns what it delivers during the build. If it has never been built, Finish keeps everything and asks you to build first.
Until version 1.2.2 the add-on made Finish skip the cleanup entirely, so every working file stayed inside the finished product.
Notes โ
- Delivery has a 2-second cooldown to avoid double clicks sending two folders.
- The owner sees the usual Keep / Discard offer in the viewer.
- The action costs 400 memory units. One or two per HUD is the norm.
- Delivery goes to the owner of the object; it cannot target other avatars.
