Giveaways PRO

Give away your products to your customers, fairly and in public. People enter from a link with one click, the draw happens live on a public page, and anyone can check that nobody picked the winners. No object to rez in your store, no spreadsheet.

How a giveaway works

  1. You create it with the prizes and the rules, and share its link (in your group, on Discord, on your profile).

  2. People enter from the link. The first time, they type their Second Life username and confirm with a link sent by IM. After that, entering any giveaway is one click.

  3. You close the entries (by hand, or automatically at a date and time you choose).

  4. You draw. Entries must be closed first, so the list of participants is locked before any draw. Everyone watching the public page sees the draw happen live, at the same moment.

  5. You confirm each winner, and your hub delivers the prize.

Create a giveaway

Open More → Giveaways. Your giveaways are there as cards, with how many people entered and how many prizes were delivered. Press New giveaway.

More → Giveaways: one card per giveaway, filtered by Open, Ended or All.

A new giveaway: title, prizes with their number of winners, the closing date and the rules against alts.

  • Title and description: what people see on the public page.
  • Prizes: one or more products from your store, each with how many winners. The prize comes from your hub, so it does not need to be on sale.
  • Entries until (optional): entries close on their own at that moment. Without a date, you close them yourself.
  • Rules: who can enter (see below).

You can have up to 3 giveaways open at a time. Finish one to start another.

Managing a giveaway

Open a giveaway to run it. At the top is its public link, with Copy link and Open live page. Below: the prizes and how many spots are filled, the winners of each draw, the rules, the proof and the list of entrants.

A giveaway in the panel: the link to share, prizes, winners waiting for you, the proof and the entrants.

The entrants list marks people who may be the same person, for example "same device as 1 other" or "same network as 2 others". Search it by name.

Rules against alts

Giveaways attract alt accounts. These rules keep it fair for your real customers:

RuleWhat it checks
Account ageThe avatar must be at least this many days old.
Payment infoAny, on file, or used: the avatar must have payment information registered with Second Life, or have used it.
Customers onlyThe avatar must have bought from your store (ever, or in the last N days), and/or spent at least an amount. Points rewards and giveaway prizes don't count as purchases.
One avatar per deviceOn by default. A second avatar entering from the same browser is turned away.

Even with the last rule off, the panel marks entries that came from the same device or network as maybe the same person, so you can decide.

Only the person who controls the avatar receives the confirmation IM, so nobody can enter someone else. You and your team cannot enter your own giveaways.

The public page

Every giveaway has a public page with its prizes, the number of people who entered, its rules, and, after the draw, every winner.

The public page: what can be won, how many people entered, and the button to enter.

When you press Draw, everyone on the page sees the show at the same time:

  1. A countdown (3, 2, 1) and Drawing.

  2. The wall. Every entrant is on it, and it gets smaller wave after wave: "27 still in the running".

  3. The duel. The last two face each other: "Who takes it?"

  4. The ticket. The winner comes out printed like a receipt, with the prize, the number of entrants, the revealed secret and the Fasty Fair Draw stamp.

People who entered see their own card marked YOU. The show has sound (with a mute button) and a Skip button. Anyone can watch it again from the results.

Winners

A winner starts as Checking: you check that they meet your requirements (being in your group, for example), then:

  • Confirm and deliver: the prize is delivered by your hub, as an L$0 sale marked giveaway prize. If the winner is offline, the hub waits until they log in (after 24 hours it sends anyway, and Second Life keeps the offer for them).
  • Annul: you must write the reason. The spot opens again and you can draw again. The annulment stays on the public page with your reason.

Someone who was drawn once never comes out again in the same giveaway, even if annulled.

Fair, and anyone can check

Like the gacha machines, every giveaway is provably fair:

  • When you create it, Fasty locks a chain of secret numbers and publishes its fingerprint right away.
  • When entries close, the list of participants is locked and its fingerprint is published too.
  • Each draw reveals one secret, and the winners come from that secret and the locked list.

You, as the creator, never see the secrets, so choosing when to close or draw cannot change the result. The public page checks everything in the visitor's own browser. Nothing is ever deleted: every draw, every winner and every annulment stays public.
